Barbados or Acerola cherry is my childhood fruits.
When I was small there are no imported cherries and these were the only cherries I ever ate.
Attractive beautiful red color with sweet and a little sour taste. Talked about it my mouth also watered.
The seeds are soft and you can easily spit the seeds out after eating all the delicious flesh.
I came across this Barbados cherry tree during my last trip to Vietnam about 1 month ago. I plucked one fruit and let me girl taste it. She said it tasted of tomato.
Grow one at home and you will have both the pretty pink flowers and red fruits to enjoy all year round.
Plant is about 60cm-1m tall. Fruiting in less than 1 year's time.
